Reflections about our poems are extraordinary. Poems aren't something that can be assigned to do, you can't just be bored and start writing one. With us it's something like a thought, a word, something you saw, it's something that just comes to you. In almost all of our poems we write what we feel at that moment, what we want our future to be like, or even what we think our past was. Our poems are not only original but we feel they are uniquely written because they come from our heart and soul. Not everything that we write is perfect but it's what we feel like writing. People think of poems like: Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you. That is not a poem, it's just a little kids' rhyme. Most poems are very deep, no word could ever express it. Our theory is that only someone who doesn't know who they are can truly write. I don’t mean literally don't know who they are, I mean they have mixed emotions and need a way to express themselves. People who feel they really do have a gift create poems. You can't just write a poem to your girlfriend or boyfriend because you want them to think you're like totally awesome and call yourself a poet. That is just not something to be done. You write a poem because it come from the heart and you want to express that to the one you love. Then again, poems don't only express love, they can tell a story that has a lesson that the writer learned, or wishes someone else would learn. When you really feel like you're mad at yourself or don't understand something, that is when you can write a real poem. When you understand that it doesn't have to rhyme. Life doesn't always rhyme, and therefore poems don't have to either. |
