Poetry of the Soul by: Holly Alford, 8th grade and Lindsey Slavin, 7th grade This is pretty self-explanatory, so we don't think we need an introduction essay. But we'll do it anyway. Our theme is "feelings and how people deal with them." We decided to use this as our theme because, as teenagers, that is what we do all the time: we feel. We feel bad if our boyfriend or girlfriend broke up with us; we feel broken when we lose our best friend; we always feel. Our feelings are not always important to those around us, but we can't help how we feel all the time, whether we are depressed or ecstatic. This is why we decided to do "feelings and how people deal with them." We will let others know that they're not alone, whatever their troubles may be. Teenagers aren't hormonal freaks who always think about the opposite gender. Not true! We are the generation of the future! We are the future business people, architects, designers, employers, and philosophers of America and the world! Our generation is just really enthusiastic about our lives, telling everyone we're alive. Our lives can be simple and yet also very complicated. Life isn't the simplest for us, we try new things and try to stay out of trouble, but some people seem to think that we’re the worst generation yet to come. However, we know wrong from right, believe it or not, and no matter what we or other people may believe, we will be in charge of running the economy…sooner than it seems. We are Generation X, meaning excellent, exciting, expressive, existent, extrinsic, and we can even be considered exclusive. We are a very important generation. We might even be the most important, because at this point the world needs our opinion. Our opinion is exactly what we hope to express. This page was last updated on 05/10/02. |
